Michigan is the only state bordered by four of the five Great Lakes and with over 115 lights and lighthouses you're sure to find one along your travels. Many of the lights still guide ships through treacherous waters. Others have been abandoned, some to be later rescued by renovation and restoration. Several are open to the public, a few include museums, and three are Bed and Breakfasts (Big Bay Point, Sand Hills and Whitefish Point). Click here for the accessible lighthouses with map.
Out of the hundred plus lighthouses in Michigan I've only seen and photographed 26 (i'm guessing). I've got lots of seeking left to do! Vacation anyone?

Beautiful picture... I suddenly miss snow, is that normal? I've never been to a lighthouse, I might be missing out.
So pretty. I love visiting lighthouses all over MI. We visited Mackinac City in July, and here is the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. If you haven't visited Mackinac, you must. It's so gorgeous up there. :)
I love light houses and covered bridges. I would love to one day go find a ton of them, but that will be for a different season in my life.

I love lighthouses, too! How did I miss this post???
I've only been to a few, but it was very cool! Love the pic! Yes, you need a nice fall vacation to grab some more on the list!
